Beautiful Aunty Alice! I loved your smile and your infectious laugh. I loved your enthusiasm and interest in our lives, even if it meant that you often got the most unflattering snaps of us as we were busy doing something, and unbeknown to us, you had caught us on camera! I loved how you embraced all things African, all things British and all things European. You loved your family immensely and you always made time for your friends. Your interest in your great nieces and nephews was real and deep. You connected with each one of them in your special warm ways. I will remember your beautiful smile and kind eyes and your sense of fun! The last 18 years of my life are richer for having you in them. My favourite memory has to be the time I had you, Peter, Gigi, and Alexander to myself when I visited you in your beloved Caramany. Swimming in the river, buying bread from the Boulangerie truck, drinking Rose on the rooftop, and embracing all things French. Rest In Peace beautiful and much loved Alice.
